Question 1

What is alkaline water?

Accepted Answer

Alkaline water has a pH above 7, the neutral point. Most alkaline water is made that way, either by an ionising machine or by adding minerals. AWA is naturally alkaline: it comes up from a sealed volcanic aquifer 300 metres beneath Riverhead, Auckland, at pH 9.4, with nothing added.

Question 2

What makes AWA different from supermarket alkaline water?

Accepted Answer

AWA's alkalinity comes from the rock, not a process. It rises from 300 metres beneath Riverhead at pH 9.4 and is bottled with nothing added and nothing taken out. Many alkaline waters reach their pH another way, through ionisation or added minerals.

Question 3

How long has AWA been around?

Accepted Answer

AWA has been delivering since 2018. In that time we've refilled more than 100,000 bottles and cubes, over 2 million litres of water, and 9 in 10 of our containers come back to be refilled. Today you'll find us in 18 stores across Auckland, Waikato and Mt Maunganui.

Question 4

Is the bottle deposit really refundable?

Accepted Answer

Yes, 100%. Deposits are fully refundable when you return your empty bottles or bags. 5L bags have a $10.00 deposit, 17.5L and 21.5L bottles have a $15.00 deposit. Return empties on your next order and pay only for the water.

Question 5

What are the bottle sizes and minimum orders?

Accepted Answer

AWA comes in 5L bags ($8.65), 17.5L bottles ($18.00), and 21.5L bottles ($20.00). Minimum order is 5 units of any size. All contain the same pure pH 9.4 alkaline water.

Question 6

What is the delivery zone?

Accepted Answer

AWA delivers across the upper North Island, from Warkworth, Orewa and Silverdale in the north, through Auckland, down to Hamilton, and across to Tauranga and Mt Maunganui. Auckland addresses are usually delivered within 72 hours with no delivery fee. Areas outside Auckland are served once a month during the week of the second Monday, with a $25 delivery surcharge, free on orders of 15 or more. We deliver to town and village addresses only, not rural or lifestyle-block addresses. Enter your postcode in the order form to see your delivery time and any fee.

Question 7

How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

Payment is via Stripe, supporting Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. All payments are secure and AWA never sees or stores your card details.

Question 8

How does the referral work?

Accepted Answer

Every paying customer gets their own referral code. Share it with a friend: they get $10 off the water on their first order, and once their order is paid you get a $10 credit code for your next order. Codes are valid for 6 months. The discount comes off the water only, not deposits or delivery. Referral codes are for new customers only, one code per order, and you can earn up to 10 credits a year.

Question 9

Can I pick up instead of getting delivery?

Accepted Answer

Yes, visit AWA East Auckland at 180 Bucklands Beach Road or contact us on 022 463 7880 / 027 436 3978 to arrange collection.

Question 10

How long does delivery take?

Accepted Answer

Auckland addresses are usually delivered within 72 hours. Outside Auckland we deliver once a month, during the week of the second Monday. Enter your postcode in the order form to see your delivery time and we'll text you to confirm your window once payment is received.

Question 11

Can I order more than 5 bags/bottles?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely, you can order any quantity above 5 using the calculator. For very large bulk orders, contact us directly on 022 463 7880 or email socialforawa@gmail.com.

Question 12

What is a volcanic aquifer?

Accepted Answer

AWA's source is a sealed volcanic aquifer 300 metres beneath Riverhead, Auckland: an ancient water reserve locked inside layers of volcanic rock. Rainfall has been slowly filtering through that rock for thousands of years, picking up natural silica and alkalinity, plus trace calcium and magnesium, on the way.
